It's PRACTICALLY HERE!

MY OTHER FAVORITE MONTH, OCTOBER!!!

Last night Collin and I borrowed our friends car to go grocery shopping. It turned into Halloween and food and decorations and adventures at SIX different stores!!!! One of them was Giant, where we were so  NOT HELPED, it was SO expensive, they didn't have anything and we ended up leaving empty handed. Thus began my vow to never buy anything from Giant EVER again! But, Target, Harris Teeter, Dollar Tree, Safeway, and Trader Joe's, thank you for a crazy wonderful evening.

SO ANYWAY, it's beginning to look a lot like, HALLOWEEN, everywhere you go......(and we haven't even gotten out our Halloween boxes, yet!!!! That's waiting for REAL October.)

Keep getting excited.

We were out walking yesterday, and I realized. It's fall. There are leaves all over the ground. It's here. And today with the pouring rain and all super cozy cuddly lovey dovey October is HERE!

Friday night's RIGHT.

Started the weekend off with a nice cut up hand. Accident!!
AMY SCERRA!!

Met up with Ramey & Kelly Walther plus their 2 awesome children, Madeleine and Grant. We went to our fav Dupont spot, Kramerbooks & Afterwords. This is what we had:
Tuna Ceviche salad
The most delicious Nachos of my life
Lobster Ravioli
Catfish fingers
Veggie Quesadilla

The food there is so incredible. We devoured:

Then our favorite cupcakes in the city, Hello Cupcake! The Hazelnut was the winner for me.

We said goodbye to friends and then found ourselves in a bookstore. Who knows what the name was. We made out in the back aisle. It was awesome. I love that place. There were tons and tons of art books. I've discovered that art books is my favorite genre.
Funny combo on this shelf:

I will watch this movie to start off Halloween.

To People out there:

Do you feel lonely during the day and miss your husband because you're both at work and busy all day? Or you're home with your sweet children with no other adults or you feel like you're doing the same thing everyday, night, week, month, year??? Do you feel far from your family and friends and like you just need to talk to someone? Do you know that what you're doing is great and that you really are blessed, but sometimes you just feel depressed or far away??

I think a lot of people feel like this. My friend just stopped by and we talked and cried and laughed together while her kids played, and I loved it because I love them and love her. I felt so blessed that she stopped by. We both needed a friend.

It feels good to talk. I'm going to go have an adventure downtown tonight, and the first date night Smith and I have had in a while due to being so darn busy. I am happy. Sometimes you just need to know you're not alone. And sometimes you need to read SCRIPTURES like this because they just PUMP you up:

Pray always, and I will pour out my Spirit upon you, and great shall be your blessing--yea, even more than if you should obtain treasures of earth and corruptibleness to the extent thereof.
Behold, canst thou read this without rejoicing and lifting up thy heart for gladness?

Get goin, Nem$

Lately, I've pretty much been doing nothing during the week. That can get depressing and boring. So I decided to stop watching TV at home altogether, and after and before work I'm going to go on adventures in Rockville. Yesterday I planned on talking the Rockville walking tour after work. I couldn't find it, but I did find the African American Rockville walking tour! Awesome. I saw quite a few spots, and then took a totally random through-houses-and-woods-and-neighborhoods-I've-never-seen route home. I liked it a lot. I recommend it.

Other adventures this week:
-Tomorrow read my new Edvard Munch book and start translation on the 2 random pages that are in Portuguese. Or Italian?
-Friday adventure downtown and then have Smith meet me after work
-Sat, work and then cool stuff in Rockville Town Square, then Relief Society General Broadcast!!!! Can't wait!!!

Alan, Sandy, Joe, Nik, Colony

Photo taken by the lovely Amy via my dad's cell phone.

Today I'm going to the temple and grocery shopping. My poor husband is dead in our bed. Not really; he's asleep, but super sick, poor guy. Either way, I'm not sleeping, and it's very very early. Lately I just haven't been able to. Too many strange dreams and stresses. I feel I'm getting tired again after staring at this screen a while. So I'll go snuggle in and kiss 'im and hope my Vitamin C pills work.

Phoenix for the weekend. Moneys. Mom's Birthday. Sept 11. Joe and Dad's football. Food. And WEDDING!

Good friend, Natalie, drove us to good friend, Chareese's, home the night before our flight. SWEETHEARTS. The flight left from DCA at 6 am. It was FREEZING. And no blankets on stinking Airtran. Besides the no blankets, our first experience with that airline was pretty alright. Thank goodness I had some random blanket-ish clothes with me.

Layover in Atlanta. Smith is a great travel partner. And he's stinking hot.
Phoenix!! The dry air! The wonderfulness! The 80 degree weather! Dad picked us up. He's a sweetheart! It was the best weightless feeling. It had been 9 months!!
Little Joey going to school. Middle school!
Cool guy going to the bus stop. He wasn't too cool to hug us goodbye though.

We went to Joe's old Elementary school for the September 11th Assembly. It was awesome.

Pomegranate, my mom's favorite vegan restaurant, for her birthday.
She's gorgeous
Yummm yum yum yum

After Morgan and Tom's sealing, had delicious Filibertos. This was the best taco I've ever had.
Joseph's football game in between the wedding and reception. Joe is the one in purple on the very left.
Rootbeer and my dad :)
Rummykub and Pizza mm.
Happy Birthday, Mom!!!! 51 and hotter than ever!

After the reception, Anne and Aaron came over. The five of us went to In n Out!!!! We got all our favorite AZ foods in in this weekend. Good cause we hadn't been to AZ in 9 months. In n Out, Fili Bs, and Native New Yorker!!

Sneaky Sneek and Mickey
The Moneys took us to the airport on Sunday morning. They came in and played Bananagrams with us till we had to go through security. I love these guys. And I won once.

Farewell AZ. I was dried out by this point. I needed moisture on my skin. But I love you, AZ. See you for Thanksgiving.
