very enlightening morning scripture study

Doctrine & Covenants 29:29-50

Heavenly Father loves us SO much and wants us to do good, wants us to be happy and return to him. YET he allows us to have all these natural trials and challenges PLUS allows Satan and followers to tempts us and mess us up. BUT WHY?

Verse 35, 36, 39, 42, 43: "Behold, I gave unto him [Adam] that he should be an agent unto himself; and I gave unto him commandment,..
...Adam, being tempted of the devil--for behold, the devil was before Adam, for he rebelled against me, saying, Give me thine honor, which is my power; and also a third part of the hosts of heaven turned he away from me because of their agency ...
...And it must needs be that the devil should tempt the children of men, or they could not be agents unto themselves; for if they never should have bitter they could not know the sweet--
...I the Lord God, should send forth angels to declare unto them repentance and redemption, through faith on the name of mine Only Begotten Son.
...Thus did I, the Lord God, appoint unto man the days of his probation--that by his natural death he might be raised in immortality unto eternal life, even as many as would believe;"


My thoughts:
--Agency (the right to make choices) is one of the most important things, EVER.
--We must endure temptation (go through, make mistakes, repent, learn from) in order to become AGENTS unto ourselves, and to become like Heavenly Father
--We are tempted by the devil and his angels, but on our side we have---

• a loving Father in Heaven who created this plan and us
• a Savior who gave his life and suffered unspeakably so we can choose repentance if we want to
• the Holy Ghost and light of Christ guiding, protecting and comforting
• angels and ancestors rooting us on
• prophets, apostles, missionaries crying repentance and the Gospel to the world
• our families and/or friends and/or SOMEONE around us to lift us up, love us, serve us

WE CAN DO IT!!!!
