Big. Boy. Bed.

It happened. Frederick got a bed. A real bed. I didn't even mean for it to happen but it was perfect and it did.
We played the whole thing up all day, talking about when dad gets home and we put sheets on and move the bed into his room and how he will go to sleep in his NEW BED!
It worked. He was super excited and went to sleep easily. Let's hope it continues to go well.

He's getting way too old.

Nursery

Frederick went to nursery today for the first time!!!! He's growing up. It's so wonderful and hard at the same time. He needs me so much but also less and in different ways than before. I keep thinking of the quote...

"Motherhood is about letting go...first from your breast, then your arms, then your sight, then your home."

I cant help but hold Collin and look into his eyes and say with a sigh that this is the start of it all. It's crazy, man.

But!!!!! He did amazingly!!! Only cried for about 5 minutes!! And I got my first piece of nursery art to hang on my fridge, and boy, I couldn't be prouder.

Shots of Fred

This little man had a check up and a shot on Friday. He's now (at almost 17 months) 32 inches tall and 23.2 lbs!!! What a grown up little toddler. He tries and succeeds at copying everything we say and do. He loves mimicking animal sounds, small words, scolding the cats, and playing loudly with toys. He says, "wow," "hi," "mommy," "dada," "dottie," "kitty," "doggie," "ahma" (grandma?? I think!), "no!" "no way," "com'on!" "uh oh!" and waves, claps, kisses us on command! His somewhat slimy open-mouthed kisses on my cheek are the best thing ever. He LOVES being outside and running more than anything in the world! Currently I follow him all around our apartment complex and we always end up in the parking lot so that he can back up and sit on a curb. He loves it. It's just his perfect height. It's pretty obvious he loves to dance! He has serious rhythm!! Here is one of his favorite moves:

He's really starting to love drawing, painting...creative things with his hands. I want to set up some art stuff on our porch so he can go at it. Ill post pictures from our recent trip to the children's museum soon! He spent the most time in the art studio, water coloring and painting a giant rocket ship! He loves books, and brings them to me to read, but after a few, he gets impatient and leaves.

I love these photos of him:

super silly fake smile face....ha....

love my babe.

happy lovin'

We were so late for church today because we were makin Valentine's for our home/visiting teachees this morning so

A. made the Jones family wait in the car for us.

B. I not only forgot to get myself a snack, but also forgot to eat BREAKFAST! This cannot happen. I will die.

C. I was in such a bad mood and didn't even sing during one of the songs.

D. I got the biggest piece of bread ever during the sacrament.

E. The talks were on charity and forgiveness and the pure love of Christ and I started feelin good.

F. I didn't die.

G. I got to eat a couple of cookies. Smith really nailed the pink and red colors for frosting. And the Valentines were super cute.

H. I really got a kid who has been having a hard time in nursery to calm down.

I. We had the BEST snack in nursery EVER (grapes, cheddar cheese and ritz) and there was a ton so I got to eat, too. Yessssss.

J. Choir was awesome.

Bottom line. I love love and second chances and that CS loves me even when I'm a snot. I'm a happy one.

nursery time

These are the kids I teach in nursery at church. I love them.

They love to go into the closet. Just like my kitten.
Attempts at trying to get group photos. Almost.

Logan died a little.

Little sweet ones. I never want to stop this calling. Never never.
