Leonardo

The kids and I visited the Leonardo, an art and science museum, earlier this month. It was the best!!!!! EVERYTHING was hands on and interactive. Downstairs they had 10-15 exhibits about different art mediums and you could use each one to create something.
Upstairs there was more science based stuff. You could experiment with electricity, batteries, build, guess, and play. There was so much to do. And the food in the cafe was AMAZING.

PAST bdays of nems

It's March. The air is getting ever warmer and blowier. Things are all coming to life. I feel motivated and moved and like ordering fish and chips and shamrock shakes and as if I'm getting older. I grow so nostalgic this time of year. I don't long for days past in anyway besides how skinny I was (and not really even that, but REALLY?!!!) but I love looking back on those days. I was so awkward and inexperienced and invincible!!! I found myself looking at photos and blog/livejournal/facebook posts from Marches past and wanted to post some of them here. Haha!! So funny...and sometimes not so! The furthest back I've been documenting myself online is about 2003, but I found photos from since about 2005. It's strange to think of a world without instagram, facebook, or even cell phones...but it's true....you robot children and grandchildren, you.

Well here it starts...and mind you, these are random and out of context...but a photo of me on my birthday that year!!!! And those....these(!!!) bangs!!!

2005. 10 years ago. I was 21 that day.

Julianne Swartz at Smoca

Gorgeous, interesting, LOVELY exhibit at Smoca currently all about LOVE. And magnets. It was all so heart warming and fun! Frederick wanted to touch everything but was good and patient with us while we talked and explored it all, explaining that we look with our eyes and then think about it with our heads and feel it in our hearts. He did so well, and there were a few things he could touch here and there.

Beautiful beautiful exhibit.

A couple of weeks ago we took a trip to St George, Utah. Southern Utah was INCREDIBLE!!!! Freddie was so good the whole was there. He was super happy. We would sing and talk and look outside, and let him play with the tablet for a while to keep him happy. We also had an activity box with paper and a few colored pencils, some cars, books and other toys. It worked well. We also went over all the names of his little cousins that would be there. There were going to be 4 other boys all between the ages of 2-4.

More summer

It's gotten to the point where we can't really go outside anymore besides swimming. Yesterday was 118 and some meters read 121. Photos are from the last couple of weeks.

The Children's Museum Phx

Yesterday we went with my mom to the Children's Museum in Phoenix. I love this place. It's super magical. Super creative, hands-on, musical, active, interesting. It's stress-free because I can just sit and watch Freddie who is free to run around and be...free! I don't have to worry about him getting into toilets, litter boxes, galling off couches, smashing his finger in doors, breaking stuff, eating any paper product he can get, etc. and he's so entertained! Super fun toys and things to touch and learn about. I always meet really nice interesting moms to talk with the whole time; this time it was a woman from Prescott with a 2 yr old, twin 1 yr olds, and 1 due in March.

And there's FREE PARKING! Im telling ya I love this place. I'm buying a membership for next summer.

I love these photos as Fred looks very contemplative in them. We all had a great time. My mom is wonderful. Sorry for some seeming duplicates. There might be a slightly different expression or hand gesture and they are all precious to me.

My fav photo of the day...
