Magic in the moonlight

Magic in the Moonlight, Woody Allen

A very good film. Gorgeous cinematography and scenery (southern France). Beautiful costumes (set in late 20s). Great acting. Great great writing/story. Gives one lots to talk about after.

Date night last night and after getting some pants and dinner at kneaders (so good!!) we watched this film, arms together, sleeping Harriet. A couple stopped us after the movie and said how beautiful Hattie is and that they used to take their now teenaged-daughter to movies as a baby.
It was slightly raining and quite cool out after the movie. We walked to the car and smith commented on how romantic it felt. I was thinking it. It was late. We kissed because it felt right and looked up at the rain.

30 weeks

Here is me at 30 weeks pregnant yesterday. I feel pretty much awesome. (thanks E.H.!) I can't believe its going so fast, just like Fred growing up. And getting older. There are so many incredible things coming up soon. Freddie and I were taking about them at the park today. First of all, it's been such nice weather that we stayed at the park for like two hours today instead of 30 minutes. Also there's general conference, Halloween, pumpkin patches, the state fair, Thanksgiving, having the baby!!!, Christmas, new years 2014!??!, Lulu and pops coming to visit!! We are going to make a super awesome timeline with these and more exiting things to look forward to.
My brother, AJ, was visiting for the past couple weeks and on his last night here, we all went to the movie Austenland. It was so silly and funny; we had a great time. Fred was asleep when we went and we were hoping he would just stay asleep like the good old days, but he woke up at the first preview and was awake and alert and interested for the entire movie. Oh boy.
And check out this guy who cut Freds hair the other day. He was like...ok I don't get along with kids. Haha. We were like ummmm....ok. But it all worked out. This kids has had about 5 hair cuts in the last year; his hair grows so fast.
Lastly, I like to take baths and practice hypnobirthing while Freddie naps and my Kitties love to keep me company. Life is good.

Skyfall

Seriously one if my favorite movies. Have you seen it? Well I got it for Easter, so you can come to my house and watch it with me. I like seeing Bond films, but the past few have been alright...mostly just action movies to me...but this one!!! From the hauntingly romantic opening by Adele, to the gruesome villain, compelling story, disposable beauties, and gorgeous shots...I love it. See it.

2 things

Yesterday I read something that reminded me of how blessed I am and it made me never want to complain or feel sorry for myself again.
Then last night my mom and I saw the movie The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and we loved it. It made me want to travel to India but also to seek out and notice the beauty all around us everyday. It made me want to be more positive and optimistic. There is this super negative woman in the film and although everyone watching would look at her and be disgusted, I think that negative tendency can be inside I all of us. We can choose to be happy, grateful, to have "blue skies kind of ideas."
I am going to try for the rest if the week to look at things more optimistically than I have been so far this week and I bet it will help me feel better.
Great quote from the movie: "Everything will work out in the end. If it has not worked out yet, then it is not yet the end."

Hangin with mom+Grandma Lulu+The Avengers

Freddie and shoes from the DR.
Seeing Grandma Lulu again on her way back to FL. (at the Big Apple. We just went to this random place because it was near the airport and it was awesome.)
Then we saw the Avengers. I actually enjoyed it. And Fred slept through the whole thing, phew.

He's a cute sleeper. He has been eating a ton all day today. That plus being bitten like 3 times on each side in the past couple of days makes for lots of lanolin use. Having teeth on the top and bottom is rough. Im not sure what to do. In not going to quit and I'm not going to smack him or yell at him or scratch him. Not my style. Are there any gentle effective ways to stop the biting?

Happy Spring!!

The day was beautiful, slightly rainy and ended up sunny. We drove to Sarasota and ate incredible Arabian food. We did a little thrifting, then to see We Bought a Zoo. I loved it! Animals! Family! Loved ones! Nature! Community. Loved it. Then on the way home we stopped at an Amish Produce stand and bought a few items of deliciousness. Yumm. I love Florida. Poor Frederick is really teething and a little miserable. Poor poor darling. He is still such a good boy and doing rather well with it. And he chewed on his first tomato today!! I could tell he loved it despite the weirded out look on his face. Hehe.
I love my husband & my son. I love March. I love and miss my kitties. They are having so much fun at the Money's! We will see them soon!

Tonight: pizza!!! (I was inspired by Amy Scerra!)

Freddie, sucking on a tomato! He had a love/hate relationship with it.
Though things go topsy turvy And meals they miss a few,
These newly wedded couples have OTHER things to do!

Laurie Notaro/vampire movie

Tonight I watched Breaking Dawn and MAN it was terrible. I hesitated to say anything on Facebook because lots of people love those movies and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. But I DID post and I'm so glad I did....for one of my favorite authors if all time, Laurie Notaro, COMMENTED ON MY POST. ahhhh I can die happy. And it's all thanks to you: schizophrenic soundtrack, horrible acting, badly edited scenes, and over all horribly bizarre plot and directing!!!!!

really quickly

The film Another Earth is incredible. The story, acting, cinematography, music, and even font. beautiful. please watch it.

I'm going to read Le Leche League International's The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding. I just can't get enough.

I just ordered Jillian Michael's 30 day shred from Amazon. Let's DO THIS. Everyone: hold me accountable. I want to feel good again.

Montgomery is an insomniac like me.

You know how I won a big giveaway last month, with 9 different prizes? I only ever got 4. Oh well, but weird, huh!! Oh well.

Jayna Hedges cut my hair and I LOVE IT. Best cut I've ever had. Liked it immediately, (no awkward stage right after), lighter, texture, side fringe (that means side bangs in Ireland), and I just let it dry and it does just what I want it to!!!! Dream!!!!

I've lived in Utah, California, Nevada, Arizona, Athlone Ireland, Prague Czech Republic, Ouelessebougou Mali, and Maryland.

Did you know that Yeah Samake is running for President of Mali and he is the only Mormon in the country? While we were living in Mali, he had just been elected Major of Ouelessebougou, and invited us to his home where we ate with his posse, used his FLUSHING toilet, and road with him through the middle of a football field and sat with him where he was the honorary guest. Very cool, indeed. He is an incredible man for real, though.

I really want an HTC Radar 4G phone. It is SO cool (and also $400, so THAT'S not happening).

I'm going to do this next month:

I would like to have an adventure soon. Very soon. Time to go feed my baby and then sleep. night.

on the road...to Utah

Last week my mom, Collin, Frederick and I left for a 5 day trip to Utah. My mom's uncle died and so, it was time for another funeral. We packed up and left for the long road trip up north. It took hours longer than usual, having a sweet little babe and all, but we watched lots of movies to make the time pass by.
The drive was gorgeous.
I love and miss Flagstaff.
The red rock in southern Utah is breath taking.
The air is fresh up in the mountains.
Frederick did pretty well considering. But towards the end he was just downright miserable. But, finally, we made it. To Provo. We stayed with cousins, Gussie, Spencer, and 10-month-old Maelo. We all had a great time together and we got to hang out with my brothers, AJ and David, who recently both returned to school at BYU. And, of course, Collin and I got to reminise about the old days and showed Freddie all our old spots....our old apartment, our favorite restaurants, old jobs (and I even stopped in and showed off my handsome baby boy at the restaurant I worked at, La Dolce Vita), and the school. One of the most amazing sights to see in Provo was the brand new temple being built right off Center Street where the old Tabernacle was. It was incredible. I just saw it and gasped at it's beauty. It's all just a wooden frame now.

woman in black

This movie looks so terrifying. I can't WAIT!

Tuesday, October 04, 2011

yesterday was rough

had a headache for the past two days and I woke up with it pounding. (probably from lack of sleep? pain killers haven't worked.) So Collin headed to work and I fed Freddie then we both fell back asleep, hard. we woke up around 11:30am, he was crying and starving. We were both super sweaty. I'm SO out of it at this point. I feed him a little and then he pees out all over me and the bed. I say, okay, shower time. In the past he's been totally happy and fine in the shower, but this time he just screamed and screamed and screamed. I got him out, me still nasty, wrapped him up, and then he pooped ALL over his towel. I get him diapered and try feeding him, but he's so upset and frustrated that we just can't get it. And at this point it's 12 something and I have not eaten A THING all day, and there is no liquid in sight to quench my insane thirst. I'm on our bed, can't get up, and I just start crying and crying with Fred. And I'm praying, talking to God, and telling him how hard this is, when..............................

my mom just comes in the door. I was saved! I told her I was so glad she was there. And she had brought me the most delicious chicken salad sandwich I've ever had. So I eat, and drink coconut water so I'm able to think straight and Fred and I are both calm so I can feed him effectively. Phew. Then he's dozing off and my mom holds him and I'm able to take a LONG HOT WONDERFUL SHOWER and even SHAVE my legs for the first time since he was born!!!! I wash off the pee and poop and milk and sweat and frustration, and feel just gratitude because the Lord is mindful of me and just when I thought I couldn't take it anymore, he sent me help.

While my sweet, darling, angel, Freddie, slept, my mom and I were able to get so much done around the apt, and when she left I slept even more and just felt so good. It's amazing how quickly things can change. Then my mom left and Collin got home and we had Family Home Evening, and we decided we were going to try our hand and go out to a movie. I was really nervous about it all working out, but I fed Fred a TON, and we went right over to the theater and watched Dream House. The seats were SO comfortable, the tickets at Harkins are cheap (only $7!!) and Freddie, swaddled up in his father's arms, SLEPT the entire time. I figured I'd nurse him if he woke up and got fussy, but I didn't even have to! The movie was really loud, too, so he's learning to sleep with lots of noise. The movie was pretty good. A great cast: Daniel Craig, Rachel Weise (who did a phenomenal job) and Naomi Watts (who was a little bit wasted on this film...her character was alright, but she's always enjoyable to watch). And as a psychological thriller, it was the perfect start to my favorite Holiday month, Halloween. woo hoo.

We can DO this! We can be parents and lovers and happy and fun and adventurers still! And man, I just can't get over how cute this guy is and how much I love to just look at him. Both of them.

Got milk????

two cuddlies. they never ever snuggle each other so in the rare times that they do it seriously melts my heart like butta.

tonight CS and I watched rango and I loved it. now, of course, we kept falling asleep and waking up and rewinding it, but we finally made it through. man, we're old people: work-aholic/baby growers. we get up early, and fall asleep watching a cartoon. The animation was excellent.

my belly is super big and super hard as a rock and I keep getting warm up surges! they don't hurt, but collin reminds me to practice slow-breathing through them for when the real thing comes along. it's just so crazy that I'm going into this whole thing and have NO CLUE what to expect! kind of exciting, no?

AND WHEN is your water supposed to break?!?!?!?
